Independent garden centre group Notcutts is building on the success of its 19 individual garden centres by launching its first e-commerce site, with over 2,000 products listed. Established for more than 100 years, Notcutts has stood for excellence in gardening, offering what it believes to be the best products and friendly advice for its customers and it has brought the same approach to the development of its new website.
The new www.notcutts.co.uk offers an array products from furniture and tools, to seeds and plants - varieties unique to Notcutts.co.uk include the new Coprosma repens Pacific Sunset (‘Hutpac’) and the Diervilla sessilifolia Col Splash TM (‘LPDC PODASA’).
The gardening chain hopes to reach a whole new audience previously unable to visit its centres as well as offering more flexibility for its existing customers. Those shopping on the new website will find an array of helpful gardening features including a monthly ‘Top Tips’ section which will be compiled by Notcutts’ gardening experts. Here users will find tips from those in the know on a variety of gardening topics. Its Gardening Blog will be regularly updated by Mr McGregor, a member of the Notcutts team who is using his garden to become as self-sufficient as possible. The site’s Gardening Library and Top Tips sections will help gardeners both novice and experienced get the most out of their gardens.
Notcutts’ Sage Privilege Club, which offers a permanent 10% discount as well as special offers and events to members throughout the year, gained its 100,000th member in April – a number Notcutts hopes to see increase even more rapidly as online customers who sign up will also be able to enjoy the 10% discount.
Notcutts Chief Executive Andy King said: “This is a really exciting time for Notcutts. The website will allow us to reach a whole new national consumer base as well as offering additional services to our existing customers. There are now three easy ways to shop at Notcutts, which gives customers choice and also offers them a number of helpful gardening features alongside invaluable tips and advice.”
